I'm a Teacher

I’m a teacher.
I’m an online teacher, but I’m still a teacher.
I spend weekends writing lesson plans.
I spend weeknights grading papers.
I field emails filled with questions from my students all day and night.
My computer is my textbook, and it goes with me everywhere, even on vacation.
I watch webinars and take classes to improve my online classes.
I don’t have a teacher next door to vent to after a difficult lesson.
I worry that my expectations are too high… or too low.
I worry that there won’t be money in the university budget for me next year.
I smile when the students are learning and improving.
There is no separation from work and home.
I teach where we eat dinner.
I’m a teacher.
I'm an online teacher, but I’m still a teacher.
